30 Day Anime Challenge - Day 10: Favorite "Slice of Life" Anime

Less of "favorite" and more of "only," Working!! reigns supreme. It details the life of a group of teenagers/young adults working in a restaurant. Here's a clip:

30 Day Anime Challenge - Day 9: Saddest Scene Ever

[Spoiler Alert: if you're reading the Anime Challenge posts in this blog, you should assume that each one of them contains spoilers. Read at your own risk.]

This is a more difficult one to answer. It has just about the same difficulty as the most epic scene ever.

First Place: Cowboy Bebop finale

We go through the entire show and find out the real reason Spike is searching the solar system: he's looking for his long-lost love, Julia. When they finally find each other, she is murdered in cold blood by Spike's arch-nemesis' cronies. There's a touching display of love in her last moments, most of it unspoken but wonderfully connoted through the visuals.

Second Place: Metropolis ending

30 Day Anime Challenge - Day 8: Most Epic Scene Ever

Well now, I guess this can be considered "bad." It's been three weeks. But never fear! I will finish this challenge...even if the days aren't consecutive, there will be thirty of them! Consider it a challenge of my willpower.

[spoiler alert for the anime movie Metropolis]

The most epic scene I have witnessed in an anime so far is certainly the end of Metropolis when Tima-controlled robots began to attack the humans in the Ziggurat and, in serving his maniacally hysteria-fueled purpose of preventing robots from overtaking humans, Rock pushed a big, stereotypical red button to destroy the Ziggurat and all the robots inside (including the controller-robot, Tima) to the tune of Ray Charles' "I Can't Stop Loving You."
